When you start a new relationship, it is normal to become interested in your partner’s hobbies and interests. It can be a lot of fun to share interests together, but mature women do not let themselves lose their own interests and hobbies for someone else. Instead, they remain interested in both their partner’s hobbies and their own. Mature women understand the importance of those three words, so they work hard to keep the words special, no matter how long they have been with their partner.

At worst, older men dating younger women are viewed with a condescending chuckle, earning the term „sugar daddy,“ as if they were a benevolent father figure. 15. They Don’t Give Up Their Identity

Why date an older woman?

This isn’t always an issue, as many times the woman’s children are grown. However, when the woman’s children are still minors, living in the home or are the age of her younger partner, problems may arise. The only way to work through these issues is by talking to your partner and assessing whether you can accept her children.

If their partner enjoys space, they give it to them, and if they enjoy affection, they give them that instead. Most importantly, they do not make assumptions about how to make their partner happy. When it came to finding love in New York, Amber Soletti, a 42-year-old who lives in the West Village, had no luck dating older guys or men her dating older women own age. While they were “well-established and articulate,” she wasn’t physically attracted to them and found they had too many issues.

Older women have learned a few things about sex, relationships, and life in general. Her partner will benefit from her knowledge and experience, and gain a new perspective. Not every mature woman is looking for a long-term relationship with a younger man. She may be just looking for a fling with someone carefree who isn’t looking for something serious either. If this sounds good to you, go for it.

I’m certainly a lot more relaxed and assured than I ever was in my early twenties, and that makes me a better girlfriend, more able to empathise and engage and much less inclined to give a shit what ‚society‘ or anyone who isn’t my partner or my friend thinks. In my experience, older women spend less time agonizing and more time having fun, and are thus pretty awesome to date. If she’s a decade older than you, that’s an extra decade to have explored what she wants in a relationship, set up her life so she’s surrounded by awesome people and doing a job she finds fulfilling, and also traveled the world/worked in twenty different states/lived in a foreign country/gone to Burning Man/learned to paraglide/experienced the whole pre-internet bar culture thing. Older women are interesting.
